Who

Peace Okezie AKA Master Peace is unapologetically himself, a multi-faceted musician who has put his own distinctive stamp on what it means to be rock and roll. Cutting his musical teeth in grime crews, Peace melds his rap influences with his love for indie music, striving to not be boxed in by any stereotypes around him as a Black artist. Citing the likes of Lightspeed Champion (Dev Hynes) and Kele from Bloc Party as inspirations, Peace reminds us of the diverse talent which really drove indie music’s golden era, whilst presenting a novel template for the sound of indie today.

What

Drawing from 2000s indie sleaze, Master Peace channels raucous energy into infectious beats for today’s generation. How To Make A Master Peace brings together punk elements, electroclash and tongue-in-cheek lyricism, ‘a pastiche of the alternative music the British artist was raised on’. Peace’s uplifting stage presence is an important part of his artistry, a rowdy and unique energy which rivals the commanding nature of the indie giants he is so inspired by.
