Live From Abbey Road
Thursdays at 10:00pm EST Episode 5 Premiers Thursday, July 17
The Sundance Channel’s acclaimed Live From Abbey Road series kicks off its fifth episode with one of contemporary music’s leading ladies. Nine time Grammy Winner Sheryl Crow graces the legendary recording studio to chat about her music and perform songs from her latest album, Detour. A former elementary school music teacher, Crow has risen beyond stardom to legend since her 1994 debut release, which was awarded three Grammies. She will be performing songs “Shine Over Babylon”, “Love is Free”, and “Now that You’re Gone”.
British indie rock band Hard-Fi will also appear on this episode of Live From Abbey Road. Their debut album, Stars of CCTV reached the number one spot on the UK albums chart in 2006, and put them on the indie rock map. The album generated a number of singles such as “Tied Up Too Tight”, which they will perform on the show. Hard-Fi will also be performing “We need Love” from their second album, Once Upon A Time In The West, which reached the number one spot in its first week.
Additionally, jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall will perform a number of her songs. Her smooth and smoky voice shines on “Exactly Like You”, from her 2006 album From This Moment On. She will also perform “I’ll String Along with You” from her 1999 Grammy winning album, When I Look In Your Eyes. Her rendition of “Let’s Face The Music And Dance” from her 2007 best of album, is the perfect clincher for the fifth episode, with it’s bossa nova groove and Latin jazz feel.
