50 Cent Asks For More Time With His Son
5 September 200850 Cent has reportedly requested a judge to give him more time to spend with his 11-year-old son, Marquise Jackson. As previously reported, Shaniqua Tompkins, 50 Cent's ex-girlfriend and the mother of his son, filed a restrained order against the rapper which limited him from seeing his child. Eventually, 50 Cent would only be given a week during the summer to spend with his son. According to TMZ, 50 Cent asked a judge Thursday (September 4) to allow him to see his son on every other weekend. The G-Unit honcho also wants access to his son during school recesses and a month during the summer. “[50's] request maximizes the time [Marquise] can spend with [him] while remaining sensitive to [his son's] schedule,” said Brett Kimmel, 50's lawyer. During the past few months, 50 Cent and Tompkins have been in a heated battle over Marquise and the rapper's Long Island mansion which burnt down in May. Tompkins, who resided in the mansion with Marquise, has publicly claimed that 50 Cent orchestrated the fire. The rapper has denied the allegations. 50 Cent and Tompkins began fighting over the house after the rapper attempted to have her evicted from the home unless she paid rent. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the former couple is expected back in court on September 8th.
